OpenAI has announced that it is investigating whether to allow users to use its products to create artificial intelligence (AI)-generated pornography and other adult content.
OpenAI has revealed that it is considering allowing developers and users to “responsibly” create what it calls “not-safe-for-work (NSFW)” content using the company’s tools. Such content includes, for example, erotica, severe violence, profanity, profanity, etc. The company also added that it hopes to better understand user and public expectations for AI model behavior in the field.

Company spokesperson Joanne Yang explains that OpenAI wants to ensure that people have maximum control over the creation of NSFW content as long as it does not violate the law or human rights. At the same time, she emphasizes that the creation of deep forgeries is still prohibited. Yang also acknowledged that whether a result is considered pornography “depends on how the user defines it.”
It should be noted that this proposal for creating NSFW content with AI tools was published as part of an OpenAI document that discusses how the company develops its AI tools.
