On Sunday, May 5, Latvia’s representative in Eurovision, Don, took part in the official opening ceremony of the Eurovision Song Contest, which took place in the Malmo concert hall. “This was a good opportunity to give interviews to Europe’s biggest media and show myself from the best side, which I think was successfully done. Thank you to everyone who keeps their fingers crossed in Latvia and I invite you to do everything in our power on Thursday so that Latvia reaches the grand final!” so Don.
So far, it’s not Don’s song “Hollow” that has caused the biggest discussion, but his outfit.
“During the development of Don’s Eurovision outfits, the blue color of the video for the song ‘Hollow’ was chosen as a guideline for the unifying concept, which permeates all the singer’s outfits and costumes. The royal blue color radiates confidence, symbolizes trust, inner peace and freedom, which is the main direction we want to go. The turquoise blue carpet dress was made of double silk, we kept minimalism, specific shapes and elegance in the cuts,” explains Kaspars Blūms-Blūmanis or Kašers, stylist of the Latvian delegation. “Don’s outfit [atklāšanas ceremonijā] stood out perfectly and was appreciated by both the media and other contestants.”
It should be reminded that the first semi-final of Eurovision will take place on May 7, the second – on May 9, and the final – on May 11. Apart from Latvia, Malta, Albania, Greece, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Denmark, Austria, Armenia, San Marino, Georgia, Belgium, Estonia, Israel, Norway and the Netherlands will also perform in the second semi-final.
