Two completely different games in two days. Latvian national ice hockey team in the last two test matches before the 2024 World Championship (WC) in the Czech Republic Arena Riga lost to Norway in extra time 0-1 and won convincingly 8-0. On Tuesday, the head coach of the Latvian national team, Harijs Vītoliņš, will name the composition of the team for the WC. First game on Saturday, May 11, against Poland.
Before going to the WC, there had never been an eight-run victory in the final game. The previous most convincing victory in the last test match was way back in 1997, when France was defeated 7-1.
