Recently, Google officially launched its Find My Device network and Android users are excited to use it. The service is still under development as compatibility continues to roll out across devices. Also, we won’t see any specific trackers compatible with the service for a while. Pebblebee just showed off its Find My Device tracker in a new video.

If you don’t know what Google’s Find My Device network is, it’s a must-know if you tend to lose your devices. You can find more information in our Find My Device network explanation. Chances are your phone is compatible with the network and can definitely benefit from it.

Along with Pebblebee, other companies such as Motorola also plan to ship trackers compatible with the Google network. This will give Android users many different trackers to choose from.

Similar to Apple’s Airtags, these trackers are small devices that you can attach to your valuables. If these objects tend to disappear, you can simply use your phone to locate the tracker and thus the location of the object. They are useful for items like wallets, purses, keys, etc.

Pebblebee’s CEO recently posted a video on Instagram showing how the device will work. The tracker itself is slightly smaller than a credit card. It’s definitely bigger than the Airtag, but that shouldn’t be a problem. It’s pretty easy to pair with your phone.

You’ll press a button on the tracker itself to enter pairing mode. You’ll then go into your phone’s Bluetooth settings and pair it like you would any other Bluetooth device. The Pebblebee tracker is compatible with Android Fast Pair, so you’ll likely see a growing card at the bottom of the screen that will allow you to pair it with a single tap. When the devices are paired, a pair of LED lights on the tracker will light up. This will be accompanied by a beep to let you know that it has successfully paired.

After pairing, your phone will be able to track the tracker. In the video, we saw a screen showing a rounded star. You can get an idea of how close the tracker is to the phone by filling out the form. When the tracker is close to the phone, it will be almost full. Going off of it will slowly drain it. If the device is far away, you will use the map screen.

Another neat detail is the fact that the Find My Device app will also show the tracker’s battery level. So you’ll want to keep it charged to make sure you can track it.
