Due to the “incident”, the representative of the Netherlands does not participate in the Eurovision final rehearsal

--

The props intended for Klein’s performance were installed on the stage in the Malmö Arena, but the show’s producer had them removed.

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) says it is currently investigating “an incident involving a Dutch artist. He will not be participating in rehearsals until further notice.”

The EBU did not provide further comments on the incident.

During the rehearsals, there was confusion in the Malmö arena, because Klein’s composition “Europapa” was not performed for unknown reasons and his place was taken by Israel’s Eden Golan, who was next on the list.

According to The Guardian, at a press conference on the evening of May 9, several performers, including Klein, expressed their displeasure that the debate over Israel’s inclusion in the contest could overshadow the event itself.

Kline, who is scheduled to appear in the finals right before Golan, was asked if his song could fit the contest’s motto. He replied: “I think that’s a good question for the EBU.”

The fact that the change to the rehearsal set list was made so suddenly suggests that the “incident” may have occurred very recently. During the rehearsals, the organizers of the competition “Europapa” included the song in the montage that is shown during the voting.

Thus, there is a possibility that Klains will take part in the final of the show on May 11 and will compete with Latvian representative Dona.

It has already been reported that on May 9, Don finally managed to break the streak of failures by entering the Eurovision final.
