There will be temporary changes in the movement of trains on several railway lines

--

PV indicates that on the Lielvārde-Aizkraukle section, passenger transportation will be provided by buses in certain cases.

There will be changes in the movement of trains on the routes Riga-Sloka, Riga-Dubulti, as well as Tukums II-Riga, Ķemeri-Riga, Sloka-Riga and Dubulti-Riga. On the Tukuma railway line, individual train journeys will be canceled along the full route or on its section, and new journeys will be scheduled at a different time on the relevant section. Also, some flights will be operated every day, not only on weekdays or holidays.

There will also be changes in the railway lines Riga-Daugavpils, Riga-Krāslava, Riga-Indra, as well as Indra-Rīga, Krāslava-Rīga, Daugavpils-Rīga, Līvāni-Rīga, Zilupe-Rīga, Rēzekne II-Rīga, Krustpils-Rīga, Gulbene- Riga and Madona-Riga. In the direction from Riga, the changes will start from Lielvārde, with trains entering the terminal points later, while in the direction of Riga, trains will leave the terminal point earlier, entering the capital according to the schedule. On the other hand, the Līvāni-Rīga train will be canceled on Sundays.

There will also be changes in train routes Riga-Aizkraukle, Riga-Lielvārde, as well as Aizkraukle-Rīga, Lielvārde-Rīga and Ogre-Rīga. In the Aizkraukle-Lielvārde section, certain electric train trips will be canceled during certain morning and afternoon hours on weekdays, thus passenger transport in both directions will be provided by buses with valid tickets for the train. Bicycles are not intended to be transported on buses.

The mentioned changes are included in the list of train movements published in PV’s mobile app “Vivi” and on the website “vivi.lv”.

PV’s turnover in 2022 was 52.242 million euros, which is 18.5% more than the year before, while the company’s profit increased by 2.2% – up to 604,239 euros. The financial results of 2023 have not yet been made public.

PV was created in 2001, separating domestic passenger transportation from the functions performed by “Latvijas dzeľselas”. Previously, PV was a 100% subsidiary of “Latvijas dželzce” but in October 2008 it was transformed into a state-owned company.
