The third open tender* for the periodic restoration of street surfaces in the capital has been announced, during which it is planned to find contractors for sixteen objects. Procurement applicants can submit offers until June 10 at 10.00

The local government previously reported that this year’s planned pavement restoration works in thirty-eight objects have been divided into three lots, with the selection of those performing the work through three open tenders1. In some places, it is planned to restore the pavement both on the sidewalk and the roadway.

As part of the currently announced tender, the restoration of the pavement is expected to be carried out:

  • Castle Square 3;
  • Aspazijas boulevard, in the section from Krišjāņa Barona street to Brīvības square;
  • on Gaujas street, in the section from the Brasa bridge to the Gustava Zemgal overpass;
  • Aptiekas Street, in the section from Tvaika Street to the bridge to Kundziņsala;
  • On Piedrujas Street, in the section from Pildas Street to Rēzeknes Street;
  • on Ludzas Street, in the section from Katoļu Street to 40 Ludzas Street;
  • for the Friča Brivzemniekas street traffic overpass;
  • Tēriņu Street, in the section from the border of Mārupe to Cēres Street, also restoring the sidewalks;
  • Pļavnieku Street, in the section from Andreja Sakharova Street to Pļavnieku Street 8;
  • Ulbrokas street, in the section from Augusta Deglava street to Braļu Kaudzīšu street;
  • Ilūkstes street, in the section from Augusta Deglava street to Dzelzavas street;
  • Jelgavas street, section from Bauskas street to Buru street;
  • on Bauskas Street, in the section from Bauskas Street 172 to Bauskas Street 166;
  • on the Daugavgrīva highway, in the section from Podraga street to Zilajai street;
  • Traffic crossing on the Daugavgrivas highway at 41 Gaigalas street;
  • Jaunciems gat, section from Mīlgrāvja bridge to Jaunciems.

Each phase has a different deadline. Depending on the amount of work to be performed at the specific stage, the time of execution of the work is set from seven to fifty calendar days after signing the contract. The works are planned to start in the summer season, after the construction supervision procurement has been concluded.

Currently, the preparation of the contracts for the objects for which a decision has been made as the winner of the first tender for the restoration of the pavement in 19 places, and the evaluation of the applicants for the general construction supervision agreement are ongoing. Likewise, until May 30 at At 10:00 a.m., bidders can submit bids for the tender for the renewal of pavement in three sections of Kārļis Ulmaņas gatve – in the section of Kārļas Ulmaņas gatve from Liepājas iela to Jaunmoku iela, in the section of Kārļis Ulmaņas gatve from Jaunmoku iela to Gramzdas iela and in the parallel lanes in both directions, in the section of Kārļas Ulmaņas gatve from Gramzdas iela to the city border.

It was previously reported that on April 17 of this year, at an extraordinary meeting of the Riga City Council, the deputies made a decision to allocate up to 10.3 million euros for resurfacing works in 19 street sections, allocating up to 1.5 million euros from the municipal budget and borrowing 8.7 million euros from Treasury.

In the first lot, the restoration of the pavement is planned to be carried out:

  • on Kārļa Mülenbach Street, in the section from Lastadija Street to Dzirnavu Street;
  • on Cēsu street, renovating the sidewalks as well;
  • Pärnavas Street, in the section from Augusta Deglava Street to Brīvības Street;
  • Biķernieku street, section from Biķernieku street no. 12 to Biķernieku street no. 40a;
  • Pulkveža Brieža Street, in the section from Hanzas Street to Elizabetes Street;
  • South Bridge and its approaches (in stages);
  • in Gustava Zemgala gatve, section from Únija street to Brīvības gatve;
  • Biķernieku Street, in the section from Lielvārde Street to Ulbrokas Street;
  • Sesku Street, in the section from Ilūkstes Street to Dārzciema Street;
  • Lubānas street, in the section from Andreja Sakharova street to Braļu Kaudzīšu street;
  • on Dārziņu Street, in the section from Cidoniju Street to Dārziņu Line 1;
  • on the Jugla embankment, in the section from Brīvības gatve to Pāles iela and Juglas iela to Murjāņu iela;
  • Brivibas gat, section from Juglas street to Jaunciems overpass;
  • For the bridge over Jugla (Liberty Street);
  • Biksere Street;
  • In Ranķa dam, in the section from Trijādības street to Uzvaras boulevard;
  • Trijādības Street, in the section from Kuģu Street to Ranķa Dam;
  • Mīlgravja bridge for the carriageway of the transport hub (except for the bridge) and the section of the carriageway up to Emmas iela;
  • Emmas, Meldru and Atlantijas streets.
