Five projects of the target program will be implemented in Talsi region

On March 1, the Kurzeme planning region announced the “Curzeme cultural program 2024” project competition of the State Cultural Capital Fund’s target program “Latvian Historical Lands Development Program”, in which projects in Talsi, Sabile, Dundaga and Kolka applied for participation and were supported.

With the support of the State Cultural Capital Fund, the municipality of Talsi region will organize the Sklandrauši festival in order to develop and shape it as a tradition – a maintainer of local uniqueness and a platform for high-quality art. A conference “Talsu Pilskalns – to conduct or not to conduct new archaeological excavations” will also be organized. On the other hand, the Sabile Culture House entered the competition with the project «12. Kurzeme handicrafts meeting in Sabile», which will take place on September 21. Also, the scientific research of the medal collection of Dundagas Castle will be carried out and the opportunities of the Livonian Union (Līvõd Īt) to continue providing the creative work of the Mazirbe residence will be supported.

In total, the State Cultural Capital Council has approved 67 projects for a total amount of 167,500 euros. These projects will make it possible to enrich the cultural offer in Kurzeme until the end of this year – December 15.
