Concerts, performances, shows and exhibitions, creative classes and unusual meetings are expected at the Museum Night in Jūrmala Museum, Aspazija’s House, Jurmala Open Air Museum, Bulduri Exhibition House and Raini’s and Aspazija’s Summer House. Visitors will also be welcomed in Dubulti Culture Quarter, Jūrmala Cultural Space and Environmental Design Center, Dzintari Concert Hall, Ķemeri Water Tower, private exhibition galleries and “Elektrum” Energy Efficiency Center.
Jurmala Museum (Tirgoņu iela 29) visitors will be waiting at 18.00–23.00, when the exhibitions will be open: “Grafitti” by Lija Rage, “Once again” by Livija Brigita Pavlovska, “In the silence of light” by Pēter Jansen and a presentation of photographs from the museum’s collection “Find yours!”
Children will be able to participate in the activity “Explore, observe or invent at the Jurmala Museum!” during the Museum Night. and at 18.00–19.30 to work in the “Fairy Tale Workshop” together with sand play therapist Ines Ābola.
Until At 7:30 p.m., the creative workshop “Create a shield of your strength” will be held with drama therapist Una Eglīti, while at 20.00 and 21.30 – meditation as an enrichment of the inner world under the guidance of personal growth coach Irisa Celma.
In the musical part of the evening at At 9:30 p.m., the performance “Blinded by the Sun” by the “Butō Lab” group is expected, with saxophonist Katrīne Sabīne Kalniņa playing, but at 22.30 Knuts Skujeniek’s poetry concert “Dziesmu dziesma” will be performed by singer Lauma Kazakas and actors Maijas Arvenas and Andras Buļis.
Aspasia’s house and garden (at Z. Meierovica prospect 18/20) from At 18.00, young and old visitors will be invited to a fun night out by clowns Max and Moritz. Until At 21.00 there will be master classes on raising chickens, collecting beetles and spinning marigolds together with artists Gundegu Muzikanti and Ilzi Dambi, at 19.00 will start The performance of the Latvian Puppet Theater “Max and Moritz”.
at 20.00 the awarding of the winners of the comic contest “When the world didn’t understand me” organized by Aspazija’s house will take place, at At 8:20 p.m., a concert organized by Madame Bolte and Fričonkuļis will be held, in which pianist Romāns Vendiņš and saxophonist Zintis Žvarts will perform.
Jurmala Open Air Museum (Tīklu Street 1A) at 19.00–23.00 the museum will be open for viewing express exhibition of objects from the collection “Historical fishermen’s clothing” and iinformative stand about the founder of maritime development Krišjānis Valdemārs, at 19.00-20.00 Liepāja Maritime College’s presentation “The sea is looking for an owner” will take place.
at 19.00–22.00 the quiz “Watch, search, find” will take place andknitting workshop for children, where they will be able to make rafts from pine bark, anchors from plastic and learn how to tie a sailor’s knot.
at 20.00–21.30 a fish smoking demonstration and tasting is expected, but at the end of the event, at 22.00–23.00, the songs of the group “Turaidas Roze” will be performed by Olga Rajecka and Uģis Roze, Tomas Ančs (cello) and Jānis Miltiņš (keyboard instruments).
in the Bulduri Exhibition House (Muižas Street 6) at From 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., the exhibition “Human construction” by Adriana Wigner and the exposition about Valda Bush “… my colors are bright, a little crazy…” will be open to visitors, they will be able to listen to a video lecture by art scholar Edvardas Schmidt about the works of Valda Bush.
at At 18.00 and 20.00 the creative workshop “Dream Cloud Construction” will take place with the artist Adriana Vignera, at 18.30 and 20.00 Dace Nesaule will lead the tour in Valdas Buša’s workshop.
at At 19.00, the drawing theater performance “Musical workshop” is expected, but at the end of the evening, at 21.30, Latvian pop songs will be performed at the concert by Antra Ozola and Guntars Bernāts.
Raina and Aspazija summer house (Jāņa Pliekšāna street 5/7) at18.00–23.00 invites you to view the museum’s main exhibition and exhibition, as well as to play games in the yard of the cottage.
at 20.00 will sound the ancient music concert “Musical sketches at the court of Frederick the Great”, in which Aija Dimza (transverse flute), Elfrida Schwalbe (cello) and Mihails Pranovič (harpsichord) will perform, and at the end of the evening, at 22.00 – 1.00, – “Poetry Midnight” with electronic music and poetry readings.
in Dubultu Culture Quarter (Strělnieku prospekt 30) at 17.00-22.00 the event “Closer to the stars” will take place, in which visitors to various activities, creative workshops and games will be waiting at Jurmala Art School and Jurmala Central Library, Jurmala Music High School at 19.00 at the concert violinist Paula Šūmane and students of Jūrmala Music High School will play music.
Dzintari concert hall, Jūrmala Cultural Space and Environmental Design Center, Ķemeru water tower, Bulduru and Ķemeru libraries, private galleries and “Elektrum” Energy Efficiency Center will also open their doors to visitors during Museum Night in Jūrmala.
Admission to all Museum Night events is free. The events will be photographed and filmed, the materials may be used for publicity.
