On Friday, May 10, the last stage of the Latvian Youth Basketball League’s PRIME final tournament series will begin in Jūrmala, Mārupe, Tīraine, Tukum and Saldu – the best boys and girls teams in the U17 and U14 groups will be determined, as well as the National League Cup competition in the U17 boys group. On the other hand, eight U14 group teams will fight for the right to play in the U15 group Super League next year.

U17 girls (year of birth 2007): Tiraine

In the U17 group, the final tournament will be held according to the elimination system. On Friday, the teams will play the quarter-final matches, on Saturday – the semi-finals, and on Sunday, the battles for places.

In the main tournament, the Daugavpils BJSS team (head coach Irina Romanenko) won all 16 games. Liepāja SSS (Ęirts Splīte) and RBJSS “Rīdzene” (Anita Mikāle) follow with a 12-4 record, BJBS “Rīga/Centrs” (Armands Misus) and Bertāns Valmiera BS (Elvijs Brokāns) with 10-6.

On Friday, in the quarter-finals in Tīraines hall, Daugavpils BJSS (1st) will play – Ventspils “Spars” (8th), at 2pm BJBS “Rīga/Centrs” (4th) – Bertānu Valmieras BS (5th), at 4pm RBJSS will play in Tīraines hall. “Rīdzene” (3.) – Ogre BS (6.), at 18 Liepāja SSS (2nd) – BJBS “Rīga”/A. Kraukļa VEF BS (7th).

On Saturday, the semi-final matches will be held in Tiraine, on Sunday the fights for the 5th and 7th place will be held in Tiraine, for the medals – in the Mārupe Sports Complex.

U17 boys (year of birth 2007): Mārupe

In the main tournament, the first place was won by Mārupes NSS (18-4; Dāvis Choders and Oskars Zurkovs), followed by BJBS “Rīga/DSN”-2 (17-5; Artūrs Ronis), Bertāns Valmieras BS (15-7; Jānis Butāns), BJBS ” Riga”/Basketball class (14-8; Agris Galvanovskis), BJBS “Riga/Centrs” (14-8; Aigars Brigmanis).

The two best teams of the National League groups will compete for the newly established award.

Tournaments in subgroups will be played on Friday, May 10.

Daugavpils/Krāslava (1st place in the East), BK “Ķekava” (2nd place in the Center) and Saldus NSS (2nd place in the West) will play in subgroup A, Liepājas SSS (1st place in the West), Gulbene BJSS (2nd place in the West) will play in subgroup B. place in the East) and BJBS “Rīga/Jugla” (3rd place in the Center).

On Saturday, the two best teams of each subgroup will compete in the semi-finals, while the third place winners will play for the 5th place.

U14 girls (year of birth 2010): Jurmala

In the U14 groups, the final tournament will be held in two stages. In the first, eight teams are divided into two groups of four and will play round-robin tournaments. The two best teams of each group will continue the fight for medals in the elimination tournament, the other two – for 5th/8th place. place.

In the girls’ main tournament, BJBS “Rīga/Jugla” (coach Liene Jansone) and BJBS “Rīga/Centrs” (Ainārs Čukste) each won 13 victories.

In the rematch for a place in the final tournament, the best team of the National League, Cēsu PSS, convincingly defeated the Liepāja team.

In the first stage of the final tournament, BJBS “Rīga/Jugla” (1st place in the main tournament), BK “Kolibri”/47 will play in group A. secondary school (4th), RBJSS “Rīdzene” (5th), Cēsu PSS (9th).

In group B: BJBS “Rīga/Centrs” (2nd), Jurmala Sports School (3rd), Ogres BS (6th), Daugavpils BJSS (7th).

In the first, eight teams are divided into two groups of four and will play round-robin tournaments. The two best teams of each group will continue the fight for medals in the second stage – the elimination tournament, the other two – for the 5th/8th place. place.

In the boys main tournament, BJBS “Rīga”/Basketball class (coach Ilgonis Pīlāgs) won all 22 games, Ogres BS (Artūrs Bērziņš) took second place with a record of 19-3. The following group was at least 6 wins away.

U14 boys (year of birth 2010), rematch for a place in the super league: Riga (DSN)

In Riga, at the Daugava Sports House, the 11th and 12th place winners of the main tournament and the best teams of the National League will fight for two places in the U15 Superleague.

On Saturday, May 11, the quarter-finals will be played: at 12:00 p.m. Bertānu Valmiera BS (12th) – BJBS “Rīga”/A. Krauklia VEF BS (1st place in the Center), at 13:30 Gulbene BJSS (1st place in the East) – Ventspils “Spars” (2nd place in the West), at 15:00 BJBS “Rīga/DSN” (11th) – BK “Ķekava” (2nd place in the Center), at 16:30 Rūjiena NSS (2nd place in the East) – Talsu NSS/Roja (1st place in the West).

On Sunday, the winners of the quarter finals will determine the two best teams that will play in the U16 Super League next season.
