According to the order of the President of Belarus, the Armed Forces of Belarus conduct a surprise inspection of non-strategic nuclear weapons carriers, the Belarusian propaganda agency BELTA reported, citing the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Belarus.

“Operationally, the division of the tactical complex “Iskander” and the squadron of Su-25 aircraft are being prepared for the fulfillment of the assigned tasks,” said Viktors Hrenins, Minister of Defense of Belarus. According to the minister, the whole range of measures will be examined, starting with the planning, preparation and use of tactical nuclear warhead strikes.

Russia announced that the General Staff had begun preparing for exercises in the use of non-strategic nuclear weapons. The exercises are being held in response to Western announcements about the possible deployment of troops to Ukraine.

The inspection will reportedly examine “the entire complex of activities, starting with the planning, preparation and execution of attacks with tactical nuclear munitions.” Specifically, the issue of the delivery of special ammunition and its loading into the launch facilities (aircraft weapons station) will be examined.
