Jānis Aizbalts, chairman of the board of “Eco Baltia vide”, comments that the company’s experience shows several positive trends – both the volume and quality of textiles handed over by residents are growing. “Consequently, an increasing proportion of textiles ends up in the secondary circulation, instead of in the landfill,” notes Aizbalts.

“Eco Baltia vide” and “Latvijas zaļais punkts” remind us that clean clothes, clean shoes and household textiles can be disposed of in specialized textile containers. The donated textile must be placed in a tightly tied bag. Dirty textiles stained with household chemicals, motor oils, wet, dirty, moldy textiles, torn clothes or scraps of clothes, as well as children’s toys should not be thrown into the containers intended for textiles.

It has already been reported that in 2023, according to preliminary data, the “Eco Baltia” concern worked with a turnover of 218.525 million euros, which is 4.1% more than the year before, while the profit of the concern decreased almost five times – to 1.695 million euros.
