Latvian Information and Communication Technology Association (LIKTA) together with partners will implement “Digital Week” activities for the 15th time in Latvia. The educational campaign will take place throughout Latvia from May 13 to 18, calling on citizens and companies to pay attention to their digital literacy and digital identity, gaining both new knowledge about the most current digital technologies and services and developing existing skills in the formats of various events. This year, for the first time, as part of “Digital Week”, special attention will be paid to artificial intelligence, but the set of activities will be concluded by Museum Night – Latvian museums will present their digital solutions to the wider public.

The Digital Week in Latvia is organized as part of ALL Digital Weeks 2024 ( ADWeeks2024 ), which this year takes place in Europe from May 13 to 31.

Taking into account that the entry of artificial intelligence into our daily life has been actively discussed for a year, “Digital Week” will be opened on May 13 with events dedicated to general digital literacy and the usefulness of artificial intelligence. The opening event will be watched PUT ON and other partners’ Facebook pages.

On May 14, events will be held aimed at improving citizens’ digital skills and various digital services that can promote employment and citizens’ competence in the labor market.

On May 15, the Day of Entrepreneurs will be organized – the organized activities are designed to promote the digital literacy of small and medium-sized entrepreneurs and digital solutions that help promote the digital transformation of business.

The events of May 16 are intended for the whole community as a whole – it will bring up the issues of cyber security, critical thinking and digital skills needed to take care of your digital security.

On the other hand, how to present and integrate digital skills in education for different age groups and levels of preparation will be discussed at the events of May 17.

For the first time, museums have joined the “Digital Week”, including the Museum Night, which will take place on May 18, in the program of the educational campaign. In this way, it will be possible to draw the attention of citizens to the diverse digital solutions in museums, which allow them to be modern and accessible.

“The Digital Week is a national-scale event that gives every resident of Latvia the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge about digital technologies and services, the range of which in today’s dynamic environment is growing every year

days. We are all interested in a digitally educated society, therefore together with our partners we have developed a valuable program of events where everyone will find something engaging and useful,” indicates President of LIKTA prof. Signe Bāliņa.

The main partners of the digital week are DocLogix, Tet, the Latvian State Radio and Television Center, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development, the Ministry of Education and Science and the Center for Cultural Information Systems. Many other ICT companies, state institutions, municipalities, libraries and non-governmental organizations have also been involved in the organization of events. Also, events will be organized in the regions of Latvia in person – in schools and libraries, non-governmental organizations, municipalities and companies.
