With the anthems of Latvia and Valmiera playing, the new “Crystal Dent” BMX Latvian Cup season started in the leading BMX center of Northern Europe – the Māras Štromberg track in Valmiera. This year for the BMX family started with innovations in the scorekeeping system. In the competition, the participants started with transponders, which make the results system more convenient, more operative and give a wider insight into the times of the trips.

Due to excellent weather conditions, the competition itself took place in a sporty and adventurous atmosphere, which was successfully managed by the local BMX club “Valmiera”.

European junior champion Edgars Langmanis and elite class driver Rinalds Jānis Kārkliņš won two victories in the Pro Open group competition of 19 participants, while Lithuanians August Bakši, Kārlis Pedraudzis, Krister Apel and Noah Rafael Laak won one each.

Langmanis and Kārkliņš were the fastest in the semi-finals. Meanwhile, Edgars Langmanis was quite convincingly unbeaten in the grand final, followed by Augusta Bakšis and Rinalds Jānis Kārkliņš in second and third place, respectively.

The women’s Pro Open group was won by Paula Kibare, a member of the Langmans club, who confidently beat the Estonian Miriam Rauna.

In the competition of 31 athletes in the B15/16 group, the representative of “BMX Rīga/ RRS” Roberts Chernov won the final in an intense battle. He was followed by two Estonian athletes – Stan Tristan Raid and Oliver Sims Simensons. 40 athletes competed in the B13-14 group. The top three this time without Latvians. Vytautas Šatas from Lithuania won, while Viesturas Vekš, representative of our athletes “BMX Rīga/ RRS”, took fourth place.
