Wine connoisseur and merchant Tom Gilbey has become a TikTok star in no time. The explanation for this is quite simple – Tom has published a video in which he tastes different wines during each mile of the London Marathon.

As seen in the video, Tom stops to taste the wine and identify the region, year and grape of origin of the drink. He was able to get seven completely correct and 14 mostly correct, but made four mistakes.
It might seem like mighty fun, but Tom didn’t do it just for fun. He ran the London Marathon to raise £2,000 for Sobell House Hospice, the charity which cared for his mum in her final days.
But Tom managed to raise £13,000 worth of donations.
When the race was over, the man told The Guardian newspaper that he celebrated his feat by drinking a glass of champagne.
“I was completely exhausted, completely prepared, but it was such a great day and the atmosphere is too fabulous to talk about, so it doesn’t matter how painful it is,” he said.
