She will now compete for the national title of Miss Universe on May 25 and may continue to compete for the world title of Miss Universe in September, the Buenos Aires Times reports.
“I’m excited to represent this new paradigm in beauty pageants, as we open a new stage where women are not just about physical beauty, but also about a different set of values,” Rodriguez told the media after her win. “I’m the first of this generation to start with that.”
“I think the judges saw my confidence and passion in representing the women of my generation. I am determined to fight for the ‘Miss Universe Argentina 2024’ crown,” Rodriguez added.
The Miss Universe organization announced in September 2023 that it will no longer have age restrictions for contestants. Starting this year, any woman over the age of 18 can participate in the contest. Previously, only women between the ages of 18 and 28 could participate in the competition.
