Today, 103 Latvian-made drones will start their journey to one of the hottest spots in Ukraine – the Donbas front. “Irši”, as entrepreneurs have named the drones, equipped with the most modern batteries at the moment. Drones have been sent to the Ukrainian front since the beginning of the war, but this is said to be the largest shipment of drones produced in Latvia.

Such combat drones, which are equipped with the most modern battery at the moment, which gives more energy and allows you to fly further, are produced even here in Latvia – on the Ogre side. “We have developed two new types of batteries that currently do not exist anywhere in the world. We have completed testing and they are 30% more efficient than what is currently available on the market. This means that drones can fly further with heavier loads and in more difficult conditions,” says Uģis Svirido, head of the company “LV-TEH”.

The businessmen have named the new drones as stingrays, because stingrays are one of the strongest stinging insects in Latvia, that will be the task of these drones. to sting the enemy as painfully as possible. Representative of “Support AZOV” Latvia) Kārlis Krastiņš: “These drones are essentially a flying projectile. Accordingly, these drones are supported by reconnaissance drones flying from the side, when the moment is right, these drones follow the instructions of the reconnaissance drones to go and destroy or neutralize the target. This Latvian-made irsis is very pungent. If an explosive device, a projectile is attached, it can also destroy a tank from above.”

Today, 103 such drones will begin their journey to Ukraine to the Donbas front. Most of the drones will go to Azov’s third strike brigade, while the rest will go to two other units. Their total cost is around 100,000 euros, but the men have calculated that, if used correctly, they can destroy equipment worth 40-50 million euros. Such assistance to Ukraine was possible thanks to the donations of citizens and companies. As the representative of “Ziedot.lv” Ilze Ošāne explains, drones have been included in every shipment to Ukraine since the beginning of the war, but this is the largest shipment containing drones manufactured in Latvia. “The amount of donations in numerically donated amounts is decreasing, but the amount of donors has certainly not decreased. Latvia supports both private individuals and companies, for which we are extremely grateful, but I also want to invite every viewer to continue to do so, because every euro will help Ukraine defeat the occupiers, regain its land and freedom.”

Patron Vilis Vitols also helped to provide 18 drones, who invited the guests of his 90th anniversary not to buy gifts, but to donate to Ukraine. “It is our greatest need today. We are not only donating to Ukraine, we are actually donating to our security. For our national security. That’s what’s important.”

Everyone present today pointed out that this is a technology war, so there will never be too many on the drone front. The company “LV-TEH” can currently assemble around 500 drones per month, but the capacity can be increased to 3,000 drones per month.
