In 2023, three Danish manufacturers, who successfully competed in innovation competitions in their homeland, made their debut on the Latvian market. Well, their new technologies are also available in our market, because these companies are represented in Latvia by SIA Mekro Agro, which offers farmers machinery and equipment with an emphasis on innovation and a new approach to several farm works, saving human resources and increasing work efficiency. Easier collecting stones with a quad bike and Stoneless
Farmers know what a headache it can be when stones get into the combine or interfere with other equipment and field work. Stoneless has found a solution to make boring hand-reading rocks exciting. It turns out it can be done with a quad bike and a rock picker on the back. This idea was conceived and taken to series production by a young Danish entrepreneur Soren Kristensen, who in his childhood helped a lot to pick stones from the fields on his father’s 400 ha farm. Already in his teenage years, he wondered how this work could be done smarter, and started making the first prototypes of the stone picker in the shed. As the idea developed to production, the sale of the quadricycle stone picker in Denmark started in 2019 and since then it has gained huge popularity not only in Denmark but also in other parts of the world.

Stoneless the stone picker is a suitable solution for farms of different sizes, it can free up to 10 ha of stones in one hour. The experience of Latvian farmers so far is 70-80 ha/day. Many farmers were quite skeptical when they saw this unit, but after trying it in their fields, they were delighted. Today, when there is a shortage of hand pickers and the cost of employing them is skyrocketing, Stoneless the solution is very attractive.
