According to Uldis Skreivers, the executive director of Jēkabpils region municipality, the municipality extended the deadline for participation in the competition for the position of chairman of the board of SIA “JK Namu pravalde”.
This was done because it was concluded that the established requirements narrowed the range of potential applicants, as education in the field of building management was required. By extending the deadline, the requirements for applicants were expanded, specifying that they can also have a higher education in economics or construction. Until then, seven applicants had applied, and by expanding the requirements, they hoped that there would be more interested parties. After that, two more applicants applied, so a total of nine. Four of them were selected, including the two who applied after the tender deadline was extended. On May 7, there will be a meeting of the tender commission, where the chairman of the board of “JK Namu pravalde” will be chosen. U. Skreivers says that there are three men and one woman among the applicants of the second round of the competition. Two applicants are from Jēkabpils district, one is from Preiļu district, while one is said to be related to Jēkabpils, but it is not possible to understand from the information whether this is his permanent place of residence. The housing management team wanted a trade union representative to be invited to the evaluation. There are no complaints against it, and he will be able to participate as an observer. Deputy Ainars Vasilis, head of municipal committees, will also participate in the work of the competition commission.
