“I must say that it is surprising that this course – the Green course – has been chosen as the dominant one in the European Parliament, and it will be worse if it comes to reality, when the Prime Ministers in the European Council will also turn to it and start thinking, how can they now will implement the Green Course,” said Dr. biol., professor and former Prime Minister Indulis Emsis, answering the question, how does he currently evaluate the initiatives related to the Green Course – the strategy of the European Union, which envisages achieving complete climate neutrality by the year 205o?

“There are guidelines developed, and everything washes over us in such a big way in the political bomb. And the politicians of Latvia’s past are these green political bombs have not participated in the rolling carefully enough, and, respectively, so political bomb is created in such a way that it acts in the interests of the large industrially developed countries – Germany, France and so on. Those who hold these resources that will now flow from Europe in that direction to develop this Green Course. For example, if we talk about renewable energy. Latvia no longer produces either those wind turbines or those legs for turbines – nothing from this infrastructure. So we will buy it all!” drew attention to Emsis in an interview on the TV24 program.

The professor of biology pointed out that it is precisely those countries that produce the relevant infrastructure elements that say: “Cool, go ahead with the Green Course!” The emcee went on to explain, “Everyone will buy from them! Do you understand where the basic idea of the Green Deal is? To sell things that would otherwise not be bought without the Green Course.” He also cited the production of electric cars as an example. “Does Latvia produce batteries? Does Latvia produce electric cars?” asked Emsis rhetorically, continuing to explain in more detail about the countries where the parts will be produced and the rare metals needed for the production of batteries and electric cars will be obtained. “What will be the environmental impact there? What kind of excavation will there be? How will all this affect the people?” emphasized Emsis.

“You see, it’s not as simple as those diagrams make it out to be,” added the professor. “This is, so to speak, the new religion of Europe! Faith without reason. Belief in things that if we implement this Green course, then the quality of life will improve for us in the future, we will have a cleaner environment, we will not strain our atmosphere less, and therefore the climate will become cooler. It’s like we’re going to cool the globe,” commented Emsis gesturing in an interview on the TV24 program “Neđėda.Post scriptum”, discussing the European Green Course.

Biology professor and former prime minister Emsis concluded that this Green course is “supported by politically correct science”. Emsis continued to emphasize: “Politically correct scientists are once again receiving large orders for this, research and proving that it is really so. But there is also politically incorrect science! And politically incorrect science says: Well wait, lovelies! The influence of people on this matter is too small! (…) We can conclude that the influence of the globe is also related to solar activity and cosmic cycles, which means that things are not so simple.”

Therefore, Emsis asked the question in the TV24 program – what is the benefit for Latvia from this whole Green Course?

“And then I would say: where are you in Latvia? the green ones, where are you Latvian politics? You have to say that we in Latvia look at this matter like this – we have a system of homesteads, our people live scattered – once lived, and we tell Europe that we will use that money to decentralize the population structure of the population, we will reduce the burden in the city – let’s reduce transport and all this…And let’s try to provide a vector so that more people can return to the countryside to their homesteads, to their family’s place of origin,” Emsis said.

“Then what will happen? Homestead turns out to be one of the most ecological models, which is very important for the diversity of nature, because birds, animals and all living creatures love it – love this homestead system! It does not burden the environment and restores this rural system, making it possible that schools, cultural centers and so on will be reborn in the countryside,” Emsis encouraged, thus recommending Latvia to act so that the Green Course will benefit our country as well, to solve, for example, pollution and transport problems in cities.
