At the end of April, TCU of Fort Worth won the CUSA conference play-offs and thus earned a ticket to the NCAA playoffs. The 2023 CCSA Conference Champion TCU made its CUSA debut this season. in the conference championship top seed TCU won all four matches, including a 3-1 win over FAU (#3) in the semifinals and a 3-0 win over Tulane (#5) in the final.

Playing together for the first time, third year student Anete Namike (Latvia) and freshman Olivia Clynes (USA) won all eight sets and earned the conference play-off best duet award. The newly formed fifth-ranked duo did not make the All-America symbolic selection. In the regular season Namiķe competed with various other partners in the second, third or fourth strongest duet positions of the Texas team, while Klines mostly played in the fifth duet.

As already reported, in the previous two seasons Anete Namike played for the Florida team Deland “Stetson” and every time she participated in the NCAA final tournament, making the favorites nervous, at least in one match.

NCAA playoffs TCU (#6) will face LSU (#11) in the first round. If they advance, they will face either Stanford (#3) or Georgia State (#14) in the quarterfinals. It was estimated that TCU will be a real contender for the NCAA title this season, however, the powerful Spaniards Daniela Alvarez/Tanya Moreno, who are playing with TCU caps on the “Beach Pro” tour, have not returned to the Texas team.

Namike’s “U” career – together with Varvara Brailko, first place in U20 EC (2020), fourth place in U21 WC (2021) and fourth place in U22 EC (2021), as well as fourth place in U22 EC together with Livu Eberi (2023).

In the finals of the “West Coast” conference, only the second strongest duo won for “Pepperdine” Kristine Briede (Latvia) and Madison Oriskovich (USA), thus the Malibu team lost 1-3 to the main favorite LMU, which qualified for the NCAA playoffs.

The bronze medalist of the 2021 Latvian Championship, the fourth-year student of “Pepperdine” Kristīne Briede has already played her last game in the ranks of the Malibu team.
