‘RNP’ expert: We have some good builders we could keep within a machine gun’s distance of building renovations

Are there enough builders in Latvia to insulate multi-apartment buildings? This question was answered by Oskars Skrastiņš, the head of the House Renovation Department of SIA “Rīgas namu pārvāndārs” (RNP) in the TV24 program “You own much more than just an apartment”, saying: “If representatives of 100 apartment buildings in Pļavnieki and Purvciem came to me tomorrow and said, that are ready [renovācijai]then we wouldn’t find a builder who could scale it all to pull“.

Skrastiņš said in the program that he had spoken with the builders and it is known that at the same time they could on average “to pull 5 to 7 projects in the relevant construction process”. The RNP representative emphasized: “If you buy a car and you don’t like it, then okay – you can sell it and so on. It is completely different with an apartment. If you want to renovate, these are very important investments. You have to understand that this is the environment where you will probably live for the next 15-20 years. Therefore, you have to be very, very careful with the builders.”

Therefore, the residents of the house, who have decided in favor of the insulation and renovation of the building, are asked to evaluate the previous activity of the builder.

“Please see what she is like portfolio, what they have done, what their financial flow is and everything else, it is very important! We have some good builders who we could keep at a machine gun’s distance from the renovation,” admitted Skrastiņš, Head of the House Renovation Department of RNP, in the TV24 program “You own much more than just an apartment”, discussing the issues of warming and renovation of multi-apartment buildings, as well as the quality of builders’ work.
