SIA “Daugavpils satiksme” informs: on May 1, traffic will resume on tram routes No. 2 “Butļerova Street – Forštadte” and No. 4. “Bread factory – Station”. 4. the tram will run according to the previous schedule, 2. a new schedule has been developed and implemented for 3 months. There will also be minor changes in the placement of stops.

Construction work on the 2.9 km long track section, which is also the most difficult section with many engineering network crossings and more than 70 private house entrances, resumed on March 18. Planned works during construction:

  • balancing of tracks and regulation of switches, construction of rubber spacers;
  • laying asphalt top layer at all section intersections and pedestrian sidewalks;
  • paving works, improvement works in the remaining stops and landscaping.

Construction and improvement works, which are not directly related to tram operation, are still ongoing.

Residents had a question about the stop “Ventspils iela”, which was located between Līvāna and Aglonas iela. Before the start of the project implementation, the mentioned road section on Ventspils street was not asphalted. In the process of implementing the project, it became necessary to integrate the newly built asphalt road infrastructure with the tram track infrastructure, which in turn prevented the possibility of creating a full-fledged stop. As a result, a stop was created on Aglonas Street, directly opposite the apartment building.

SIA “Daugavpils satiksme” states that as a result of the implementation of the construction project, a new tram stop “Ventspils iela” has been created, while the stop “Aglonas iela” is being reclassified as a “on demand” stop.

Starting from this year On May 1, trams on route No. 2 will run according to a new schedule, which will be introduced experimentally for 3 months. Passenger transportation from 05.34 to 08.00 will be provided with two tram cars, but from 08.00 with one tram car.

For tram route No. 4, which partially duplicates tram route No. 2, the timetable is not changed, the interval between tram trips on route No. 2 and No. 4 will make 20 min. and 40 min. on holidays, but on weekdays this interval will work after 08.00.

The timetable of trams can be found on the website of SIA “Daugavpils satiksme”: here.

We invite residents who use public transport on a daily basis to choose the most convenient routes by studying their timetables and schemes here.
