This year marks 34 years, since on May 4, 1990, the Supreme Council adopted the declaration “On the restoration of the independence of the Republic of Latvia”. A historic vote that confirmed the people’s will to live in a free Latvia and to be responsible for their country and its development. Thanks for the courage then and realizing the power of our thoughts and actions today, on May 4 we will celebrate the Independence Day of the Republic of Latvia.

On May 4, the one-day music, art and contemporary theater festival “Ziedonis Uedenstornī” will be held in Karosta Water Tower, 29 Įenerāļa Baloža Street, Liepāja.

The Valmiera Culture Center’s youth dance group “Sadancis” invites you to draw on the strength of our people and the warmth of spring at the folk dance concert “Youth for Valmiera” on May 4 at 17.00 in Valmiera Cultural Center. Let’s celebrate freedom and the flow of life, let’s see the beautiful and true in ourselves, and let’s share the joy! The audience is waiting for rich emotions and sparkling energy expressed in familiar dances and fresher creations.

JDK “Sadancis”, TDA “Ogre”, DA “Dailrade”, TDA “Rotaļa”, DA “Banga”, dance school “Dzirnas” will take part in the concert. Entrance: 5-7 EUR. Tickets at “Bilešu Paradīze” ticket offices.

In Berzaine

on May 3 at At 18.00, a concert dedicated to the anniversary of the restoration of the independence of the Republic of Latvia “May – and the air waves” will take place in the Bērzaines Town House. The brass band of the Voluntary Firemen’s Association of Valmiera will perform under the direction of Gunars Gedushev.

In spellers

on May 4 at 18.00 in the Burtnieku Culture Center, the vocal ensemble “Pieskāriens” invites you to celebrate together with songs and singing.

In Evel

at the Évele Town Hall on May 3 at At 14.00 we invite you to a festive sing-along. The musical performance will be taken care of by the chapel of the Rencēnai Parish House of Culture “Rotas muzikanti” led by Valdas Meijers.

In the hills

on May 4 at At 17.00, the festive concert “We are Latvia!” will take place in the Kauguru Culture House. Latvian melodies will be played by the brass band of Valmiera Voluntary Firemen’s Association, patriotic poetry will be spoken by the actors of Kaugur parish amateur theater “Vizija”.

In the ball

on May 4 at At 14.00 Lode Culture House, the women’s choir “Lira” will hold a concert “Man dziesmiņa įmi năca…”, an exhibition of Artas Mēnes paintings will be on display.

In Mazsalac

on May 4 at 11.00 a festive concert “Anniversary of Freedom in Mazsalac” will be held in Mazsalac’s Saieta Square (in case of bad weather, in Mazsalac’s Culture Center). The brass band of Cēsi Culture Center “Cēsis”, conductors Jānis Puriņš, Evija Dāve, and the youth dance group “Oga” of Mazsalaca Culture Center, conductor Aija Vidovska, concertmaster Baiba Bīviņa will take part in the concert.

“Colorful Spring” exhibition of works by Mazsalaca Music and Art School students can be seen at the Mazsalaca Culture Center.

In night shadows

on May 3 at 18.00 We invite you to an evening with the singer Uldi Punkstiņa at the cultural house of Naukšēni parish.

In Rencens

Renčeniu Parish Culture House on May 4 at At 12.00, the exhibition of the porcelain collection of Jānis Trubačs of the district “Rīgas porcelāns” will be opened. We will treat our guests with the “Uzkūko” cake specially created for the holiday, while enjoying coffee from cups from the porcelain collection.

From May 4 to 11, the literary exhibition “Latvia’s Independence Restoration Day” can be viewed in the 1st library of Rencēni Parish.

In Rujien

on May 4 at 16.00 at the Rūjiena Culture Center we invite you to the concert program “Red-white-red” dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Latvia. The most sonorous Latvian patriotic songs will be performed by a professional duo of musicians “Violin Diivas” – Inese Leušina (voice, violin) and Lelde Zaržecka (piano, violin).

From May 2 to 16, the exhibition “4. May – the day that changed the history of Latvia”.

From May 4, the “Corner story” exhibition will be on view in the courtyard of Rīgas Street 8.

in Vaidava

On May 3, at 8 p.m., Vaidava Culture and Crafts Center will host a festive choir concert “Vaidava river and lake meet in a singing stream”. The following will take part: the mixed choir “Ape” of the Apes Folk House, the vocal ensemble of the Apes Folk House and the mixed choir “Vaidava” of the Vaidava Culture and Crafts Center.

From May 3, the Vaidava Culture and Handicrafts Center will host a photo exhibition “Vaidava Mixed Choir – the joy of our meeting in songs”. The exhibition can be viewed until July 1.
