At the end of the Olympic month, Olympic Day is celebrated on April 26. In Jelgava, on this day, joint gymnastics took place in the Jānis Lūš stadium of the Zemgale Olympic Center (ZOC) and in the city’s educational institutions, as well as Olympic Day relays in several class groups.

One of the traditions of the Olympic Day is joint gymnastics, and this year it was held in kindergartens and schools as well as in the Jānis Lūša Stadium of the Zemgale Olympic Center. Participants of the relay teams of Jelgava 4th secondary school and also other schools of the city and students of the nearest kindergartens gathered for the joint exercise at ZOC.

In Jelgava, school team relays have become a tradition of the Olympic Day after joint gymnastics. 4-5 grades and 6-7 class teams competed in the 10×60 meter mixed relay, the 4×100 meter relay for boys and girls and the mixed Swedish relay (100+200+300+400 meters), but the 8th-9th Grades 10-12 teams competed in the 10×60 meter mixed relay, the 4×100 meter relay for boys and girls, and the Swedish mixed relay.

It should be noted that the Olympic Day is held in honor of the foundation day of the International Olympic Committee and the IOC.
