In the last few days, Latvia has not been blessed with good and sunny weather conditions, and during the last month, quite sharp temperature fluctuations have also been observed – it is almost summer here, but the next morning there will be snow outside the window. Meteorologist Toms Bricis recently promised new temperature records in “Morning Panorama”, which will reach Latvia already this weekend, but will it really happen? He has come up with new information.

According to current forecasts, the warmth will return to Latvia very gradually in the coming days. Rain is also expected in some places during the weekend, however, there are hopes that the sun will shine more often. On Friday, both in Kurzeme and Zemgale, frost is still possible at night, because the thermometer will drop below 0 degrees, no big frost is promised – up to minus 1 degree.

Both Saturday and Sunday afternoons will warm up, but by how much? Is there really hope for a meteorological summer?

Take the test!

As you know, meteorological summer is a time period that is determined according to meteorological criteria and covers a certain period of time in which the average air temperature exceeds a certain threshold. Generally, the meteorological summer begins and ends depending on the climatic zone of the region.
