The fact that we remain less is not good news, of course. But the fact that each child worsens the overall material and financial condition of the family is a fact. This opinion was expressed by Jana Bunkus, head of the Communication Division of the business school “Turība” in the TV24 program “Press Club”.

To decide in favor of a child, the modern man first thinks about how we will provide for this child, how we will help him at all levels.

As Bunkus says: “If in Soviet times there was a saying to give birth so that the child will grow up, then nowadays it is no longer the case does not workbecause a lot of components have arrived.”

The child must be educated, brought to clubs, because today’s world demands more competence than it was before – much more skills and abilities in education, in higher education. The specialist points to the logical fact that all parents want their children to study.

“A child nowadays comes complete with a lot of different activities that parents have to help him achieve and do during his life. Such is the modern world. We live in such a rapidly developing world that it demands it, so it is very difficult to blame something,” Bunkus assesses the situation that way.

She points out another shortcoming of the state system: “My first child is an adult and the youngest is ten years old, I receive 25 euros per month for this child. I think it’s a mistake. I called VSAA to ask, no, it wasn’t a mistake.”

And here is the other side of the coin – the state budget is what it is. The options are what they are. Of course, I would like to be paid 1,000 euros per child per month. But the question is whether the state budget can do it, Bunkus invites those who understand. “Therefore, the biggest financial responsibility lies directly with the parents themselves!”
