Orleāns told the program that in the internal slang of the party members, the envelopes with cash were called “shipments”, which were prepared by the then general secretary of the party, Artis Kampars, but the employees organized their delivery to the addressees.

He has reported to KNAB about the long-term payment of enveloped salaries in the office of the Prime Minister. This allegedly took place in 2021 and 2022, however, Orleans did not name specific recipients of the envelopes.

The correspondence of the party in LTV’s possession shows that Ieva Zīberga, the advisor of the then Prime Minister Krišjāņa Kariņa (JV), who is currently the head of the office of the current Prime Minister Evikas Siliņa (JV), was also interested in receiving the shipment. Sieberga denied it to the program, as well as the then general secretary Kampars also denied the existence of such “shipments”.

LETA already reported, previously the TV3 program “Neka persigina” reported at the beginning of March that Orleans will turn to the law enforcement authorities, claiming that the political force paid him and at least ten other office workers the so-called envelope salaries.

Orleans claimed that the enveloped salary payments started around 2017, when the party experienced financial difficulties. Upon receiving the first envelope salaries, Orleans objected, but he was promised that, as the party’s financial situation improves, the official payment of salaries will be resumed, as well as all taxes for the previous period will be paid.

The politician told the program that he received 650 euros in an envelope in addition to the official salary. The politician has also seen similar envelopes on the desks of other colleagues.

Not having received the promised tax payment, Orleans has approached both the party board and individually to leading party politicians, including the then Prime Minister Kariņas and the current Prime Minister Silina, but no results have followed.

In connection with the payment of envelope salaries, Orleāns will contact the KNAB, the State Revenue Service, the State Labor Inspectorate and the General Prosecutor’s Office, as well as the State Data Inspectorate for possible violations in the storage of personal data.

On the other hand, in the statement issued by the party “Vienotības” on March 12, it is stated that Orlean’s accusations about the payment of envelope salaries “are invented with the aim of defaming the party “Vienotības”.
