The acceptance of applications for participation in the incubation program of the Latvian Investment and Development Agency (LIAA) has begun in 20 regional representative offices, as well as in the Creative Industries and Technology representative offices in Riga, the LETA agency was informed by the LIAA.

Companies registered in Latvia up to five years old, working with technologies, developing innovative products or services, as well as businessmen from the creative industries sector with a developed product or service at least at a minimum viable level can apply for incubation support. You can apply until May 17 of this year.

Application for the LIAA incubation program is based on the administrative-territorial division or regional principle. On the other hand, businessmen from any territory of Latvia can apply to Creative Industries and Technologies representative offices located in Riga, if the offered product or service corresponds to the mentioned orientation.

LIAA regional offices are located in Jūrmala, Tukum, Valmiera, Cēsis, Smiltene, Madon, Gulbene, Alūksne, Sigulda, Liepāja, Saldu, Ventspils, Kuldīga, Talsi, Jelgava, Bauska, Ogre, Jēkabpils, Rēzekne and Daugavpils.

It is planned that two to ten companies will be admitted to the incubation program in each representative office. Admission will take place twice a year – in spring and autumn.

The new call will be a continuation of the LIAA regional business incubators project, within the framework of which 685 businessmen received support in the form of grants from 2016 to 2023. 1,044 newly established businesses have received various types of non-financial support, creating 2,568 new jobs. 92 companies were supported in the field of creative industries. On the other hand, another 3,173 natural persons and businessmen received non-financial support in the pre-incubation program, according to LIAA.

The funding used in the project in the previous planning period was 35.2 million euros, while the amount of taxes paid to the State Treasury by the companies participating in the program was 47.1 million euros.
