As informed by the representative of the State Police, Gita Gžibovska, two criminal proceedings have been initiated in the police – one for the fact that two skinheads injured a man and, in addition, by using violence, ordered the victim to publicly glorify the dictator of Nazi Germany, Adolf Hitler, that is, to perform the Nazi salute with a raised hand. saying “Glory to Adolf Hitler!” The mentioned actions were filmed with a mobile phone and made public on the Internet.

The second criminal trial has been started because another representative of the skinhead subculture has several times carried out actions aimed at inciting racial hatred on social media platforms. Also, by using violence and threats against a punk, this person “committed an act aimed at causing discord”, causing substantial harm. The aforementioned actions were filmed by his girlfriend on behalf of the skinhead with a mobile phone, but later the video was posted on social media platforms.

In both criminal trials, during the weekend, criminal procedural activities, searches of several residences were carried out, as a result of which information was obtained about possible other criminal offenses committed by skinheads.

“Shaving heads, or skinheads, also simply skins for short, is a subculture. (…) The skinhead subculture is divided into more detailed directions, which differ in their views on certain topics. NS skinheads practice national socialist ideology (neo-Nazism), and this is one of the directions of the skinhead subculture. The special cult of NS skinheads is formed around the personality of Adolf Hitler and some other leaders of the National Socialist movement. For NS skinheads, external appearance plays an important role in identifying themselves, the main features are a shaved head or a very short haircut, light blue jeans, short, black and dark green jackets with a “zipper” without a collar or so-called “bombers”, a military uniform or its individual elements, Nazi symbols, embroidery, badges, heavy long boots, mostly black in color,” explains the police.
