on April 2, 2024 at 16.00 Daugavpils Vienības nama Russian Culture Center (KKC), Varšavas Street 14, a new exhibition of paintings and dolls “Made by Souls and Hands” will be opened.

The new KKC exhibition will feature paintings of various formats and self-made dolls painted in the oil technique by Valentina Vorotnikova, a member of the Latgale Association of Free Artists, a citizen of Daugavpils. In total, there will be 29 paintings and 18 dolls that reveal the creative energy, feelings and values ​​of the artist.

The artist’s paintings depict winter and summer scenes, forest and domestic animals, still life scenes, there are works with city views and buildings, for example, one of the paintings depicts the House of Unity. The painting works of the exhibition are characterized by a bright range of colors, interplay of light and shadow, subtle mood nuances and details.

V. Vorotnikova has been making dolls for about 25 years. “In the beginning, I only wanted to try my hand at it. But creation is an exciting process that has no end or edge. And now I have a collection of dolls that I want to share with viewers!” – says the artist.

The amateur artist has actively participated and continues to participate in both collective and personal exhibitions in Latvia, Lithuania and, of course, in Daugavpils.

The exhibition “Created by souls and hands” will be available to visitors until April 30 (on weekdays from 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m.). Free entrance.

The exhibition is organized by the structural unit “Centre of Russian culture” of the Daugavpils state city municipality “Vienības nams”.
