For a long time, the mobile phone no longer serves only as a communication tool, but combines all kinds of functions to make everyday life easier – access to the Internet, bill payment, payment card, calendar, notepad, world map and more! Ventspils Digital Center, as part of the “Adult Education Days in Kurzeme” event, invites everyone interested to the Technology Afternoon, where the opportunities provided by mobile technologies, as well as safety aspects, will be reviewed.

The technology afternoon “Mobile technologies and their application in everyday life” will take place on the Zoom online platform on April 11 at 16.00 – 17.30 You can apply until April 10 by filling out the form here: www.adre.se/mobilaanketa.

Content of the free lesson:

Mobile technologies in everyday life:

  • Using the phone planner – calendar and note applications for daily planning and notes.
  • Useful applications for more convenient daily organization.
  • GPS and Maps – Using Google Maps or Waze when traveling to find directions, shops, restaurants, etc.
  • Mobile payment systems – Google Wallet and Google Pay applications to store payment cards and make payments in-store or online using a smartphone, as well as to store store customer cards.

Security and privacy in mobile technology:

  • Password and biometrics to protect your smartphone and personal data.
  • Data protection and security – privacy settings and security on the Internet (fake calls, e-mails, SMS).
  • 112 application in case of accidents.

To participate in the classes, you need a computer, a stable Internet connection, access to the Zoom conference program. A Zoom login link will be sent to the email provided by the participant on the day of the event. The classes will be led by the teacher Didzis Ābele.

From April 8 to 12, the adult education coordinators of the municipalities of the Kurzeme region invite everyone to participate in the activities of the “Adult Education Days in Kurzeme” event. In events of different formats, residents will have the opportunity to get to know the diversity of adult education in the municipalities of the Kurzeme region and learn new knowledge and skills. All activities offered are free of charge. At the same time, you will have the opportunity to apply for individual consultation about learning opportunities in your municipality and throughout Latvia. The purpose of the event “Adult education days in Kurzeme” is to promote the involvement of citizens in adult education activities and understanding of the importance of learning for personal and professional development throughout life.
