On May 18, we will celebrate Parventa’s holiday for the sixteenth time. This time, the festive program is a sweet surprise, gathering the pilgrims in a festive procession, various creative activities and a specially prepared concert, participating themselves and inviting the young musician Emilija Beržin and the attractive group “Dziļi violets” as guests. Well, just like in life, when a person’s heart is full of glorious dreams, the spark of youth and the desire for sweet adventures at the age of sixteen.
As part of the Pärventas festivities, starting from May 13, activities will be held in Ventspils 3rd primary school, Pärventas primary school, preschool educational institutions and the Pärventas library. There will be sports events, creative workshops, and various thematic events. It should be mentioned that until May 13, the photo contest “Pärventa – sweet memories” will be held, in which everyone can submit photos and participate with their memories about Pärventa (we invite you to send them to e-mail: [email protected]).
Saturday, May 18 at At 12.00, the holiday will be opened with a magnificent festive procession, in which students of Parventa schools and preschools, their parents and teachers, employees of the Parventa library, municipal institutions and private companies will participate. The brass band “Ventspils” will join the festive procession. The route will traditionally start from Pārventa elementary school, walking along Tārgales street, ending in the square near the “Pārventa” sports hall.
From At 12.30 in the center of the right bank of the city – in the square near the “Pārventa” sports hall, a festive concert will be held, where carefully prepared performances by young students of Pārventa preschool educational institutions, musical programs by school students, and a musical greeting by Daniel Širmanis, the leader of the event and guardian, will be heard. There will also be specially prepared sung surprises by several well-known musicians in our city, as well as the winner of the musical TV show “X Factor” Emilija Bērzińs. After At 15:00, the band “Dziļi violets”, popular in Latvia, will play music on stage, whose soloist Nauris Brikmanis is a well-known comedian, presenter, actor and in every other way a person loved by the people.
Cafes will be open during the event, children will have the opportunity to participate in various free activities – riding ponies, frolicking in inflatable attractions, participating in various sports games, as well as showing their talents in creative activities – in the sweets workshop, everyone will have the opportunity to create their own “sugar rooster”, face painting and get a beautiful drawing and others. With the help of the smart photo box, visitors will have the opportunity to get a photo of themselves printed for free as a souvenir from this holiday. On the other hand, Pärventas library will invite everyone to its creative workshops and cognitive orientation game “Pärventas detective”.
The most sporty families and sports friends will be waiting for football games in the “Pärventa” sports hall and on the football field. The international children’s football tournament among young athletes born in 2015 will be held. 20 teams from Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia will participate in the tournament. On the other hand, for hockey fans at At 1:20 p.m., there will be an opportunity to watch the World Championship hockey game (Latvia – Sweden) on a big screen in the square near the Pärventa library.
At the end of the afternoon at At 18.00, the visitors will be waiting for the Parventa library, where the conductor, artistic director of several vocal groups, musician Ginta Rūse will perform a creative concert with the participation of the mixed choir “Kaiva” and students of the Ventspils Music High School.
On the evening of the holiday, with the onset of darkness in the windows of the Parventa library, alternating lights, dancers’ shadows and music, a specially prepared performance by the contemporary dance studio “Prieks” is expected. After both performances of the shows, which start at 22.00 and at 22.30, everyone will be able to reminisce in the large-scale projections of the “Pärventa – sweet memories” photo contest.
The events are organized by the Ventspils Culture Center, Pärventas educational institutions and Pärventas library with the support of the municipality of Ventspils.
