A passenger bus entered the river and sank in St. Petersburg

Current information shows that at least three people died, several managed to escape from the bus. Four people were hospitalized, but their condition is considered serious, clinical death has occurred.

The video published on several “Telegram” channels shows that the bus was driving along the embankment and suddenly lost control, ran onto a bridge, crashed into two cars and fell into the river.

The first to rescue the passengers of the bus were the passengers of a passing small boat, car drivers, and construction workers working nearby. They threw lifebuoys into the river, others jumped into the river themselves.

Then rescuers and police arrived at the scene. In total, 69 people were involved in the operation.

Six got out of the water by themselves or with the help of people who were by their side. Another nine were pulled out of the water by employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The bus driver was arrested. He was also taken to the hospital.

The 44-year-old driver Rahmatshok K. was born in Tajikistan, but he is a citizen of Russia, the channel “Ostorozhno, novosti” reports on the “Telegram” platform.

As the wife of the driver told the media “112”, her spouse was forced to make the morning flight after a 20-hour working day.

Representatives of the authorities, however, claim that all the necessary tests were performed on the driver before starting work.
