Finland wants to urgently build a TNT factory due to the lack of explosives in Europe / Article

Poland is home to the only TNT plant in the region, but it cannot supply enough explosives to meet the huge demand. That is why Finland has started talks with allies about building a TNT plant, Finnish Defense Minister Antti Hekanen confirmed.

“The Ministry of Defense is working with industry and allies to explore the possibility of TNT production not only in Finland but also in allied countries. The issue is moving forward urgently and decisions need to be made now so that production can start in a year or two. We have long experience and munitions production capabilities, so Finland would also be able to produce TNT. But this is only one of the options we are looking at in close dialogue with the Nordic countries and other allies,” Hekanen told Finnish public media YLE.
