Frequent washing is known to be harmful to the skin as it has a protective layer that can be washed away, especially if you use strong hygiene products. According to experts, if the natural protection is washed away, negative consequences are possible.

The skin’s protective layer is washed away, so dryness, irritation and itching may occur; the skin may crack. Microbes and allergens can enter the body through cracks in the skin, which can cause allergic reactions and skin infections.

The BBC found out if the tradition of showering every day could become a thing of the past. Professor Kristen Gram-Hansen from Aalborg University in Denmark believes that it is likely that people will not start avoiding the shower for the reasons mentioned above.

“We don’t shower for health reasons. We shower because it’s normal. Time cannot be turned back. Showering norms are now ingrained in our society,” noted the expert.

Most people still do not know when it is better to take a shower: in the evening or in the morning. The doctor finally put an end to the matter.

As the Mirror writes, it is recommended to take a shower for no longer than 10 minutes, preferring a moderate water temperature to avoid irritation. Showering in the morning and in the evening has several advantages and disadvantages. Doctors note that both are good for the body, but the general opinion is that an evening shower is the best.

“An evening shower is considered the best for hygiene and promotes good sleep.” An evening shower is the best way to relax, help relieve stress from work or the gym and “wash away the day’s dirt”. People sleep better after an evening shower because they feel clean.

“Airborne allergens and irritants, dirt and dust can accumulate on your body and hair, especially during the summer months. So if you go to bed without a shower, they will pass on your bed and sheets. These irritants may not go away, but instead to accommodate in your bed, causing nocturnal allergies,” the publication explained.

However, a morning shower can help rejuvenate the skin and stimulate blood cells. Washing your face in the morning can help rid your skin of oil that has built up overnight.
