Paris police escort Palestinian supporters out of Sciences Po

--

Students waved Palestinian flags and chanted slogans in support of the people of the Gaza Strip.

Israel launched a war against the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas in the Gaza Strip after the terrorists carried out a massacre in Israel on October 7, killing 1,200 people and taking 250 hostages.

Protesters had occupied one of the Science Po buildings since Thursday evening. The university administration closed the main buildings and classes were conducted remotely.

Pro-Palestinian students also planned to protest at the Pantheon monument near Sorbonne University today.

On Thursday, similar protests took place at several other universities in France, including Lille and Lyon.

The prime minister’s office said police were asked to evacuate students from 23 sites on French campuses on Thursday, and “all were evacuated within hours.”

Police will remain near Sciences Po to prevent a repeat of the protests. Last week, tensions erupted between Palestinian and Israeli supporters outside the elite university. Police intervened to separate the two groups. The situation ended peacefully as the pro-Palestinian students agreed to leave.
