“In the interviews conducted last week at selection points in several Russian cities, the majority of the interviewees indicated the desire to avenge those who died in the tragedy that took place in the Moscow region on March 22, 2024 as the main motive for concluding the agreement,” the ministry said in a statement.

The ministry says that since the beginning of the war, more than 100,000 people have signed contracts with the armed forces. On the other hand, approximately 16,000 people have signed contracts in the last ten days.

It has already been reported that on March 22, armed attackers stormed the “Crocus City Hall” concert hall in Krasnogorsk, near Moscow, and killed at least 139 people. About 200 were injured.

The “Islamic State” group claimed responsibility for the terrorist attack. Western security experts believe that the Afghan branch of this organization – the “Islamic State – Khorasan Province” group – is behind the attack.

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has admitted that the attack was carried out by “radical Islamists”, but continues to insist, without any evidence, that Ukraine and the West were involved.

The results of the online survey center “OpenMinds” show that 50% of the surveyed Russian citizens believe that Ukraine is behind the terrorist attack, while 27% think that it was carried out by the “Islamic State”. On the other hand, 6% believe that the “collective West” – NATO, USA, and Great Britain – is to blame for the terrorist attack.
