The Latvian hockey team continues its preparations for the world championship. Today, Swedish vice-champion Rofrigo Abols joined the team. Matīss Timofejevs attended the training of the national team.

Swedish champion Mārtiņš Dzierkals joined the national team on Friday. Today, Mārtiņš trained in exactly the same forward trio with Abolas. Captain Kaspars Daugavins plays together with the Swedish finalists.

On Thursday, Kristers Gudlevskis joined the team, who led his team to the finals of the German DEL League, but had to lose to Berlin “Eisbären”. Krister was recognized as the best goalkeeper of the regular season.

Gudlevsky is competing for a place in the national team’s goal with NHL club goalkeeper Elvis Merzlikin and Finland’s second league goalkeeper Eriks Vitols.

Andris Džeriņš is no longer training with the national team due to an injury. The coaches have decided that Rihards Marenis will not continue training with the national team. The national team head coach Harijs Vītoliņš will name the composition of the national team tomorrow. The World Championship in the Czech Republic will start this Friday, you can watch it on LTV7.
