Dallas Mavericks extend Kidd’s contract during the playoffs

--

“Mavericks” does not reveal the term for which the contract was concluded, only saying that it was “extended for several years”.

“Coach Kidd will be leading our team for the next few years following this contract extension,” Mavericks manager Patrick Dimon said. “Kidd made the playoffs twice in three seasons with our team.”

“I’ve known Kidd for a long time and I can’t think of a better and more qualified candidate to lead this team,” said club general manager Nico Harrison. “As an NBA Hall of Famer, he brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the coaching role that cannot be duplicated, and he has earned the trust and respect of us and many players around the league.”

Kidd is coaching the team for the third season, achieving a record of 140-106 in the regular season, and 13-11 in the playoffs. In Kidd’s first season with the Mavericks, he helped the Mavericks to a 52-30 regular season record and reach the Western Conference Finals.

This season, the “Mavericks” won the Southwest Division championship for only the fifth time in the club’s history with a record of 50-32, but they defeated the Los Angeles “Clippers” in the first round of the playoffs and will start the Western Conference semi-final series in Oklahoma City on Tuesday.
