Continuing his excellent start to the season, Paul Jonas scored his first Grand Prix victory in the MXGP class at the fifth round of the World Motocross Championship in Portugal on Sunday. The Latvian finished both races in second place, but the second race was particularly difficult, when the rain turned the track into mud and it was too much of a test for many of the leading drivers. But not for Jonas of the Standing Construct Honda team.
