Latvian basketball player Kristaps Porzingis is gradually recovering from a calf muscle injury, but the return of the Boston “Celtics” player to the court in the National Basketball Association (NBA) games is not predictable, the website “Theathletic.com” reported on Saturday.

Porzingis told the journalists of the news portal on Saturday that he is slowly recovering from the calf muscle strain of his right leg, which he suffered in the fourth match of the first round series of the NBA playoffs with the Miami Heat, but his return to the field is not yet predictable.

“There is no specific date. It is still too early to talk about it,” said Porzingis. “I think it will become clear when I start doing more. I’m not too close to it yet, but I hope to recover quickly.”

“I’m doing everything I can to speed up my return to the field because I want to do it as soon as possible. However, I understand that the worst thing would probably be to make the injury worse.”

Doctors predict a recovery time of two to three weeks.

Porzingis was injured on April 29, when he went for a rebound and stepped on Tyler Hero’s leg.

Porzingis said that he hasn’t started running yet and is currently working in the weight room, but he hopes to start training on the basketball court soon.

In the semi-finals, the “Celtics” are expected to face the Cleveland “Cavaliers” or Orlando “Magic”, the result of this series being 3-3.
