The Olympic champion will wait for Putin’s permission to participate in the Paris Games

As you know, the athletes of the aggressor countries will be allowed to participate in the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris only as neutral athletes.

The decision of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to admit Russian and Belarusian athletes to the Olympics was met with widespread criticism in the world sports community. Participation in the Olympics without its own symbolism is also considered an insult by Russia.

A number of Russian athletes have already refused to participate in the Olympic Games. Russian fencers, rowers and archers will not participate in the biggest sports forum of the quarter. On the other hand, Russian tennis players who have adopted the status of neutral athletes are called “foreign agents” in their homeland.

On the other hand, the titled swimmer Yefimova participated in the Olympic Games only with the consent of the war criminal Vladimir Putin.

“I will not stand against my country, but [olimpiskajās spēlēs] I will gladly participate if I am allowed,” Yefimova said in a conversation with “R-Sport”, adding that she is not afraid of the condemnation of other compatriots for accepting the status of a neutral athlete, but she wants to receive the acceptance of the Russian leadership.

During her career, Yefimova has won one Olympic medal from each category. She also has 18 awards in the world championships.

Until now, Russia has engaged in public condemnation of the IOC and harassment of its members, including the president, but an official decision to ban its country’s athletes from participating in the Olympics has not yet been announced.

The Olympic Games will take place from July 26 to August 11.
