On Sunday, April 28, the decisive games of the Latvian Youth Basketball League’s PRIME final tournament for girls’ teams in the U12 group took place in Riga.
U12 girls (year of birth 2012): BK “Kolibri”/47.vsk.
In the grand final of BK “Kolibri”/47.vsk. (2nd place in the main tournament; coach Mudīte Gūtmane) beat RBJSS “Rīdzene” (1st; Anita Mikāle and Daiga Žvirble) – 39:32 (13:9, 25:14, 33:26). For the winners, Marta Aleksāne scored 14 points, Karlīna Paula Grandāne 11; “Rīdzene” Dārta Muceniece – 14 points.
In the fight for bronze BJBS “Rīga/Jugla” (4th; Diāna Kuzina and Liene Jansone) – BJBS “Rīga/Centrs” (3rd; Ainārs Čukste and Līga Alilujeva) 35:23 (10:5, 21:13, 32: 18).
Playing for 7th place BJBS “Rīga/Centrs”-2 (8th) – Ogres BS (5th) 25:53, for 5th place Liepāja SSS (6th) – Daugavpils BJSS (5th) 30:43.
Karlina Paula Grandāne (BK “Kolibri”/47.vsk.) was recognized as the most valuable player of the tournament.
The five Talents chosen by the coaches include Marta Aleksāne (BK “Kolibri”/47.vsk), Dārta Muceniece, Rasa Bondare (both RBJSS “Rīdzene”), Nora Janberga (BJBS “Rīga/Jugla”) and Laura Strēle (BJBS “Rīga/ Center”).
