It has already been reported that Tyson and Paul will enter the ring on July 20. It is expected that this will be a demonstration fight, however, there is no clear information about the rules of the duel yet.
Tyson has not been in the ring since late 2020, when he faced another boxing legend, Roy Jones Jr. Tyson admitted that before the fight against Jones, similar to now, he felt fear.
“I have a funny personality. I don’t think it’s funny myself. When I’m scared to do something, I do it. I was scared before I fought Roy. I was 100 pounds overweight. I was 53 or 54 years old. I stood against everything I’m afraid of. I’m scared to death right now,” Tyson said.
Even in the prime days of his career, the legendary boxer did not hide that he was overcome by fear before fights, which disappeared when he entered the ring. Tyson still has similar thoughts.
“I’ve always believed that adversity and nervousness led me to success. If I didn’t go through those feelings, I wouldn’t agree to fight [pret Polu]. I need these feelings before the fight. Otherwise I would never get in the ring. When the fight gets closer, I’m less nervous, because then reality gets closer. And in reality I am invulnerable,” said the legendary boxer.
Tyson also defended his next opponent against critics who belittle Paul’s ability in the ring.
“I saw a YouTube video of him dancing when he was 16. That’s not a guy I’m going to fight. This guy is going to try to hurt me. But I’m used to that. Then he’s going to realize he’s made a huge mistake,” stated Big Mike.
57 Tyson had 50 wins and six losses during his successful career. Paul, on the other hand, has so far accumulated nine victories in 10 career fights, with his only loss coming against Tyson Fury’s half-brother Tommy.
