Helvij “broky” Saukants had reached the final of the “Major” tournament for the second time in his career. Two years ago in Belgium, he and FaZe managed to triumph, but this time they had to settle for second place.

“FaZe” won a bonus of 170 thousand dollars for the second place in the tournament, while the champion “NaVi” won half a million.

Despite the loss in the finals, FaZe proved itself as a CS2 heavyweight in this tournament as well. Since the fall of the Counter Strike 2 era, FaZe has participated in seven major tournaments and reached the finals in all of them. True, this was already the fourth loss in the final match in a row.

In today’s match, “broky” accumulated 34-34 statistics and got a rating of 0.99, which was the third best on the team.

CS2’s first Major was won by Natus Vincere, a team from a Ukrainian esports organization that recently made major changes to an international roster.

Captain Alexis “Aleksib” Virolainen from Finland led the team to victory, and together with him, Lithuanian Justin “jL” Lekavičius became the “Major” champion. He was named MVP of the tournament.

“Natus Vincere” first won on the “Ancient” map (13:9), which was the opponent’s choice. This was followed by NaVi’s pick of the Mirage map, but FaZe were on a roll in the second map, overwhelming their opponents 13-2.

But it turned out that all the luck was spent on the second map, because after the decisive third map “FaZe” absolutely nothing went out of hand.

“NaVi” got a big lead and “FaZe” with great efforts kept some hope for themselves after the first half (3:9).

But in the second half, FaZe lost in the pistol round on the CT side, which made the situation even worse. In the next rounds, we had to take risks, which did not bring success, and “NaVi” won 13:3.

It was NaVi’s first win at an elite level tournament since spring 2022, as well as the first since CS star Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostylev decided to take a break.
