Brian Windhorst, journalist of the North American media ESPN, has included the Latvian Kristaps Porzingis among the 20 players of the National Basketball Association (NBA), who, in his opinion, can become the biggest winners or losers in the upcoming “play-off” competition.

The reporter also looked at basketball players such as Porzingis’ Boston Celtics teammate Jayson Tatum, Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic and last season’s MVP Joel Embiid. Windhorst suggested that the playoffs will be important for Tatum and Embiid to improve their reputations after the failures of previous years, while Jokic could establish himself as one of the greatest players of all time.

On the other hand, describing Porzingis, the journalist admitted that the playoffs could change the Latvian’s future career scenario. “Porzingis has had a great season – he has been very effective in attack, and his performance in defense has been the best in his career. He’s already signed a $60 million contract extension with Boston, but his career has also been riddled with disappointments and missed opportunities that have hurt his reputation and diminished his value. A strong “play-off” with good health could change the direction of Porzingis’ career,” Windhorst believes.

This season, Porzingis played in 52 out of 74 “Celtics” games. The Liepāja native stood out with an average of 20.2 points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.9 blocked shots. The Boston team with a record of 58-16 is the leading team in the NBA.

Observer: If Porzingis plays like this in the play-offs as well, Boston will not have to wait long to win the title
