Free citizenship classes

The municipality of Jelgava invites interested parties to apply for free preparation classes for the knowledge tests or naturalization exam stipulated in the Citizenship Law. The classes will be held in the municipal institution “Sabiedriskais centrs” on Skolotau Street 8.

Citizens of Jelgava between the ages of 25 and 65 whose goal is to obtain citizenship of the Republic of Latvia and who plan to take the knowledge tests stipulated in the Citizenship Law immediately after the training can apply for training.

The program will include 48 contact hours, during which you will be able to prepare for the Latvian language proficiency test, expand your knowledge of the history of the Republic of Latvia, the Constitution and state administration, and familiarize yourself with the naturalization exam procedure and evaluation system.

Classes will start as soon as the group is complete, and are scheduled to take place twice a week – Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

You can apply for classes by phone 63005467 or in person at the Jelgava municipal institution “Sabiedriskas centrs” Skolotāju iela 8, room 103. The training is organized by the “Public Center” institution.
