On the sunny and truly summery first day of May, the spinning season was opened in Daugavpils Great Hive Lake, which, as usual, was started by the Daugavpils Open City Championship.
A large number of participants took part in the championship – 32 teams and 10 individual participants. With the roar of the boat engines, the participants spread out on the Great Hive Lake to compete for the title of the best angler and catch the biggest catch for six hours.
Returning to the shore, the participants and fans were already waiting for a lunch prepared in the fresh air by the cook Alexey. Some did not manage to catch a single fish during the championship, but for several the day turned out to be really successful, bringing several pike and perch to the shore.
After weighing and measuring, the best anglers of the championship in the team and individual standings were known.

III place – team “Fishka” Vitaly Telezhnikov/Vitaly Fyodorov (2.030 kg)
2nd place – team “Mechanics” Apeksandrs Ivchenko/Edvins Nesinovs (2,400 kg)

The organizers of the competition DVPI “Youth affairs and sports administration”, the fishing shop “Shark” and the organization “CopeVkaif” thank all anglers, fans and supporters for organizing the fishing festival.
