The relevant decree no. 317/2024 was published on the website of the Office of the President on May 9. It states: “The procedure relating to the head of public administration has changed:
Relieve Rudy Serhii Leonidovich from the post of head of the State Defense Directorate of Ukraine.”
It has already been reported that the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) discovered a network of agents of the 5th division of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB), which was preparing for the assassination of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, reports the Ukrainian publication “Suspilne”.

“The counter-intelligence service and SBU investigators foiled plans by the FSB (Federal Security Service of Russia) to eliminate the president of Ukraine and other top military and political leaders,” the service said in a statement on the Telegram website.
The network, which was monitored by FSB agents from Moscow, included two Ukrainian National Guard colonels who leaked confidential information to FSB agents.
“Yes, the enemy was actively developing plans to eliminate President Volodymyr Zelensky. One of the tasks of the FSB network of agents was to find persons among military personnel close to the president who could capture the president and later kill him,” the SBU said.
It is reported that in addition to Zelensky, the FSB also planned to kill the head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Vasyl Malyuk, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kirill Budanov, and other high-ranking officials.
It is known that Budanova planned to carry out the assassination before Easter.
The detainees are kept in custody, they face life imprisonment.
